Affiliate disclosure (the short version)
BizSoftScout is reader-supported. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up for or buy a product, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. We only earn when you choose to act on a recommendation, and a commission never changes our rankings, ratings, or verdicts. You will find this same disclosure at the top of every article that contains affiliate links, before the first link appears.
How we make money
- Affiliate commissions: When we recommend software (for example Jobber, Gusto, Square, HoneyBook, or Shopify), those links are often affiliate links. If you start a trial or a paid plan through them, the software company may pay us a referral commission.
- No extra cost to you: The commission is paid by the software company out of its marketing budget, not added to your price. In some cases our link unlocks a reader discount.
- The programs we use: We participate in software affiliate and partner programs directly with vendors and through networks such as Impact, PartnerStack, and similar platforms. If we ever add retail-hardware links through the Amazon Associates program, we will display the required Amazon disclosure on those pages.
How to identify an affiliate link
Affiliate links on this site are marked with rel="sponsored" in the page code and always sit below a visible disclosure. Editorial links to sources and research (for example pricing pages or independent reviews) are not affiliate links.
Our editorial standards
- No pay-for-play. Software companies cannot pay us for a positive review. If a tool is weak, we say so.
- Research-based, independent judgment. We evaluate tools on features, pricing, and real-world fit for small-business owners, and we cross-check every pricing claim against the vendor’s own pages and independent 2026 sources. Where we have tested a tool directly, we say so; where our verdict is research-based, we say that too.
- Rankings first. Our recommendations are ordered by who each tool actually fits — by trade, team size, and budget — never by which program pays the most.
Why we use affiliate links
Running a high-quality review site costs money — hosting, research tools, and writers. Affiliate commissions let us keep every guide free, with no paywalls or subscriptions.
